The IASB Board Presidents' Academy is back at two locations on two dates: June 13 in Naperville and June 20 in Champaign. The 2026 Academy offers a full day of professional development for current and aspiring school board presidents and vice presidents.
Participants will gain access to key resources and materials designed for the board president position. The agenda includes sessions on parliamentary review and Robert’s Rules of Order, how to plan and conduct effective meetings, and a Q&A with veteran board presidents on strategies to encourage collaboration and effective decision-making. Keynoting the event will be Oregon CUSD 220 Superintendent PJ Caposey, Ed.D., speaking about dual nature of leadership — the honor and weight that it carries and the responsibility it demands.
Registration is $199 and includes breakfast and lunch, plus a complimentary copy of Coming to Order: A Guide to Successful School Board Meetings. Registration is open and details are available at the Board Presidents' Academy webpage.
